Relax in a Stressed Out World
from the
Lewis Institute for Health and Well Being
Stress and Biological change
It's true, we live in stressful times
and what makes people most stressed out is when they
feel they do not have any control.
The medical community now accepts the
notion that for cardiovascular disease, for depression,
for immune disorders and probably for every heath
condition there is a inescapable link with stress.
At a cellular level, brain hormones
produced by stress, influence which genes are switched
on and off in a body
And in turn how your body
functions is determined by which genes are switched on
or off.

Our genes tell us: Not all stress is harmful
