The
Brain
That
Changes
Itself
and
Changing
Your
mind
For
many
years
until
recently,
it
was
believed
that
our
brain
circuits
were
formed
in
childhood
and
could
never
be
changed.
It
is
now
known
that
our
brain
can
change
and
this
process
is
referred
to
as
neuroplasticity.
This
means
our
brains
can
change
physically,
chemically
and
what's
more,
our
mind
can
influence
our
brain
to
make
changes.
Approaches
that
have
been
adopted
primarily
from
Buddhist
science
are
now
being
shown
to
be
therapeutically
powerful
and
effective
in
such
serious
mental
disorders
as
Post
Traumatic
Stress
Disorder,
Obsessive-Compulsive
Disorder
and
even
schizophrenia.
Sufferers
from
these
conditions
are
responding
to
mindfulness
training
exercises,
which
are
structured
in
such
a
way,
that
positive
brain
change
can
take
place
over
time,
reducing
or
resolving
the
symptoms
of
these
illnesses.
This
further
reinforces
the
value
of
meditation
that
lays
the
foundation
for
influencing
our
thoughts,
feelings
and
reactions
to
life
and
all
of
its
challenges.

That
Changes
Itself".
This

presentation
on
changing
your
mind
and
the
amazing
approaches
that
come
from
both
neuroscience
and
Eastern
traditional
wisdom.
The
Brain
That
Changes
Itself
and
Changing
Your
mind
The
discovery
of
neuroplasticity,
that
our
thoughts
can
change
the
structure
and
function
of
our
brains,
even
into
old
age,
is
the
most
important
breakthrough
in
our
understanding
of
the
brain
in
four
hundred
years
— NY
Times.
Some
key
points
from
the
DVD:
- Don't believe everything you think
- Dominant thoughts create dominant behaviours
- Becoming the "impartial spectator"
- Developing constant effortful attention to change brain circuits
