A
Good
Night's
Sleep
Many
people
consider
meditating
in
the
morning
is
best
and
is
the
perfect
way
to
start
your
day,
however
meditating
before
bed
is
also
a
great
way
to
end
your
day
and
can
help
you
make
the
transition
from
your
day
of
activity
to a
night
of
sleeping
peacefully.
Most
of
us
have
experienced
being
very
tired
and
going
to
bed
and
tossing
and
turning,
because
thoughts
that
keep
coming
to
mind
prevent
you
from
sleeping.
Meditating
before
bedtime
helps
rest
the
body
physiologically,
so
that
you
are
more
able
to
fall
asleep.
You
can
also
turn
down
the
volume
of
thoughts
in
your
mind.
By
focusing
on
your
breathing,
focusing
on
the
quality
of
your
breath
ie.,
is
your
breathing
calm
and
regular?
Or
is
it
rapid
and
shallow?
Just
by
focusing
attention
on
the
breath,
your
breathing
will
help
your
body
to
relax
and
before
you
know
it
you'll
be
sleeping.

Mindfulness
for everyone
We are losing
our ability to
self-regulate
our own nervous
systems and we
are becoming
more dependent
on a variety of
external quick
fixes, causing
us to lose
control of our
daily actions,
and the
trajectory of
our lives.

Why do you
turn down the
radio when you
are driving?
Directing
attention to
listening
effectively
'turns down the
volume' on input
to the visual
parts of the
brain. The
evidence we have
right now
strongly
suggests that
attention is
strictly limited
- a zero-sum
game.
